Abstract: Este estudo dará a conhecer a forma como a comunidade eborense vê a integração da cidade na rede de cidades educadoras e o trabalho de implementação de ações do município, que permitam a criação de uma verdadeira cidade educadora. Para isso, inquiriram-se docentes de três estabelecimentos do Primeiro Ciclo do Ensino Básico da cidade e realizaram-se entrevistas a responsáveis políticos (atuais e anteriores) autárquicos pelo projeto “Évora, Cidade Educadora”. Procura-se encontrar uma relação entre a aplicação da Carta das Cidades Educadoras e a existência de altos níveis de criatividade, bem como a sua aplicação nas políticas locais de educação, concluindo-se que quer na escolha das suas prioridades (expressas na Carta Educativa), quer nas Atividades Extra Curriculares ou nos projetos dinamizados pela cidade se promove a cidadania, o respeito pelos outros/identidade cultural local, potenciando-se a construção de uma cidade participada, multicultural e inclusiva; ABSTRACT:This study will give an insight as to how the community sees Évora’s integration in the Educating Cities Network, as well as the work developed by the Municipality to implement actions concerning the creation of a true educating city. To better understand this, teachers of three Primary Schools of Évora (Basic Teaching Cicle) filled in a Questionnaire and the city’s politicians/administrators (current and former) were interviewed to collect data on the project Évora, Educating City. This dissertation aims to find a relationship between the application of the Charter of Educating Cities and the existence of high levels of creativity, as well as its application in local education policies, concluding that either in its choice of priorities (expressed in Educational Charter), or in Extra Curricular Activities or projects implementation, Évora is developing citizenship, respect for others / local cultural identity, enhancing the construction of a participatory, inclusive and multicultural city.
