Espace du passé. Évocations nostalgiques et hétérotopie mémorielle à Viévola

Abstract

Past Space. Memorial Evocations and Heterotopia in Viévola (Tende) Drawn on the ethnography of a hamlet of Piedmontese migrants, this text describes how the memory of migration and the negotiation of the identity’s descendants take place during the hamlet’s annual festival, which is built as a nostalgic device. Using and discussing notions such as structural nostalgia, heterotopia and space, it depicts the conditions of creativity, transmission and efficacy of the nostalgia, through the construction of a past space.
