Fatores de abandono da carreira desportiva de árbitros no Futsal

Abstract

Atualmente, o futsal é dos desportos mais mediáticos do mundo, aquele a que ninguém é indiferente e está inserido numa atividade com significativa relevância social e económica. Neste contexto, surge o elemento que fiscaliza e faz cumprir as leis de jogo, o árbitro, sendo considerado na maioria das vezes o vilão de toda a história. Os árbitros enfrentam diversas dificuldades na carreira estando constantemente sujeitos a críticas, exigências físicas e psicológicas, ao ter de acompanhar o ritmo intenso dos jogos e tomar decisões rápidas e precisas sob pressão, o que requer um forte equilíbrio emocional e resiliência. A sua carreira tende a ser mais curta do que a da maioria das profissões. Esta complexidade exigida aliada às constantes dificuldades no exercício das funções podem levá-lo a abandonar a carreira, sendo este o problema da investigação, uma questão crítica que afeta a continuidade e a qualidade da arbitragem no desporto. Tem como objetivo identificar os motivos que podem levar os árbitros a abandonar a sua carreira desportiva, com o intuito de encontrar soluções que permitam contrariar este abandono e reunir o maior número de árbitros nas diferentes Associações e na Federação Portuguesa de Futebol. A metodologia do estudo envolve uma abordagem descritiva exploratória, utilizando um inquérito por questionário aplicado a árbitros de futsal de várias categorias a nível distrital e nacional. Os resultados mostraram que a maioria dos árbitros com intenção de abandono são os que integram categorias inferiores e mais jovens. O estudo conclui que a principal causa de abandono entre os árbitros de futsal é a combinação de fatores psicológicos, organizacionais e financeiros; - Abandonment of referees in Futsal Abstract: Currently, futsal is one of the most mediatic sports in the world, the one to which no one is indifferent and is part of an activity with significant social and economic relevance. In this context, the element that supervises and enforces the laws of the game arises, the referee, being considered most of the time the villain of the whole story. Referees face several difficulties in their careers and are constantly subject to criticism, physical and psychological demands, having to keep up with the intense pace of games and make quick and accurate decisions under pressure, which requires a strong emotional balance and resilience. Their career tends to be shorter than that of most professions. This required complexity combined with the constant difficulties in the exercise of functions can lead him to abandon his career, this being the problem of research, a critical issue that affects the continuity and quality of refereeing in sport. The aim is to identify the reasons that may lead referees to abandon their sports careers, with the intention of finding solutions to counteract this trend and to gather the greatest possible number of referees in the different Associations and the Portuguese Football Federation. The study's methodology involves a descriptive and exploratory approach, using a questionnaire survey administered to futsal referees from various categories at district and national levels. The results showed that most referees intending to quit are those in lower and younger categories. The study concludes that the main cause of abandonment among futsal referees is a combination of psychological, organizational, and financial factors.
