Empoderamento sócioeconómico, cultural e político das mulheres timorenses no desenvolvimento nacional

Abstract

O estudo que se apresenta foi realizado em Timor-Leste e teve como objeto o empodera-mento socioeconómico, cultural e político das mulheres timorenses. Para tal centrou-se na análise das estratégias dos seus atores e nos desafios estratégicos que lhes foram lançados de modo a responder a um conjunto de interrogações, de objetivos e a comprovar as hipóteses de investigação. O processo de empoderamento socioeconómico, cultural e político das mulheres, realizado pelo Governo de Timor-Leste, ainda não conseguiu criar oportunidades de emprego para muitas mulheres, pelo que ainda hoje o desemprego e a situação de pobreza são comuns a muitas delas. Tomou-se necessário reter as representações e as relações que os atores de Timor-Leste estabelecem, em torno desse mesmo empoderamento à escala da sociedade timorense de modo a produzir uma recomendação ao Governo de Timor-Leste que vise a ação conducente a uma sociedade mais equitativa, mais justa e mais desenvolvida; Empoderamento Socioeconómico, Cultural e Político das Mulheres Timorenses no Desenvolvimento Nacional

ABSTRACT: Socioconomic, Cultural eand Politic Empowerment of Timorese Women in National Development The present study was carried out in East Timor and aimed at the socioeconomic, cultural and politic empowerment of Timorese women. It focused on analyzing the strategies of its actors and on the strategic challenges they faced in order to respond to a set of questions, objectives and to confirm the hypothesis of investigation. The process of socioeconomic, cultural and politic empowerment of women, carried out by the Government of East Timor, has not yet created employment opportunities for many women, so that even today unemployment and poverty are common to many women. It was necessary to retain the representations and relations that the East Timorese actors establish around this same empowerment at the level of Timorese society in order to pro-duce a recommendation to the Government of East-Timor aimed at action leading to a more equitable, fairer and more developed society.
