A influência de Chopin na música brasileira dos séculos XIX e XX: considerações históricas e análise comparada de obras representativas

Abstract

O presente trabalho consiste numa pesquisa sobre a influência de Frédéric François Chopin na música pianística brasileira. Para tal, foram escolhidas obras para piano de alguns compositores brasileiros dos séculos XIX e XX, nomeadamente Heitor Villa-Lobos, Henrique Oswald, Ernesto Nazareth, Francisco Mignone, Almeida Prado, Leopoldo Miguéz, entre outros. Esta dissertação consite numa análise histórica, mostrando fundamentos que comprovam como os compositores brasileiros se deixaram influenciar pelo estilo romântico de F. Chopin. Demonstra, também, como a sociedade brasileira dos séculos XIX e XX foi influenciada pela cultura europeia. Para além da fundamentação histórica, foram abordados diferentes parâmetros de análise, incluindo particularidades de escrita e forma que permitiram definir a influência da natureza pesquisada. Junto ao trabalho escrito será apresentado um recital de piano, onde as peças brasileiras analisadas serão executadas de modo a ilustrar as conclusões de pesquisa, no confronto com algumas obras de F. Chopin; ### Abstract: Chopin’s influence on Brazilian music of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries: Historical considerations and comparative analysis of representative works The present work is an investigation on the influence of Frédéric François Chopin in the brazilian piano music. Some names were chosen from brazilian nineteenth and twentieth century composers of piano music, such as Heitor Villa-Lobos, Henrique Oswald, Ernesto Nazareth, Francisco Mignone, Almeida Prado and Leopoldo Miguéz, among others. The present dissertation includes a historical analysis, arguing how brazilian composers were influenced by the romantic style of F. Chopin. It also illustrates how Brazilian society of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries was influenced by European culture. Along with the historical fundament, different analysis parameters were worked, including particularities of writing and form, which allowed to define the influence in question. A piano recital will be presented along with the written work, where the Brazilian pieces analyzed will be performed in order to illustrate the research findings, in comparison with some works of F. Chopin.
