Antrópico e transumano? O Paradoxo do Antropoceno.

Abstract

Partindo do lema da Tyrell Corporation, “more human than human”, como expressão de um projecto de mundo inerente à civilização tecnológica, a que pertencemos inequivocamente, procurarei mostrar que nas designações várias – científicas e culturais – do que corresponde à Idade do Homem, proposta pelos geólogos, reside um insuperado paradoxo. Não é, na verdade, o homo humanus que a configura, mas o mero correlato antrópico do universo observável. Esta referência, que procede da astrofísica, consiste numa “inteligência”, concebida como eminentemente neutra, alheia ao mundo da vida e carente de empatia, e, por isso, destinada a não ser nunca propriamente humana, mas sim à maneira do que hoje chamamos AI. Starting from the Tyrell Corporation's motto, "more human than human", as an expression of a world project inherent to technological civilisation, to which we unequivocally belong, my aim is to show that in the various designations - scientific and cultural - of what corresponds to the Age of Man, proposed by geologists, lies an unsurpassed paradox. It's not actually the homo humanus that shapes it, but the mere anthropic correlate of the observable universe. This reference, which comes from astrophysics, consists of an "intelligence", conceived as eminently neutral, alien to the world of life and lacking empathy, and, therefore, destined never to be properly human, but in the manner of what is now called AI.
