Abstract: The present invention relates to the develop- ment of a device for capturing flying insects, in particular the olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae), for biological control of this olive grove pest. [0002] This device is autonomous and active in oper- ation and comprises a substantially cylindrically shaped outer body, as well as a fan and an insect-trapping mech- anism both placed inside such outer body, whereby the insect-trapping mechanism is composed of an electro- cuting device (6) and specific volatile compounds for at- tracting of insects. [0003] The present invention thus relates to the field of agronomy, phytosanitary protection and biological control of olive grove pests.
