Abstract: | Thyroid tumours are the most common endocrine tumours of dogs and cats. Feline thyroid tumours are essentially functional adenomas curable with thyroidectomy, whereas most
canine thyroid tumours are non-functional carcinomas either unresectable or recurrent within two years in up 50%. The oncobiology of these tumours remains unclear, but investigating
this aspect could contribute to the development of targeted therapies. We aimed to characterise a series of thyroid tumours of dogs and cats, focusing on correlating histopathological
findings with molecular alterations. |
