TITLE: Female Clown without words: Reports of a historic silence Within many cultures and for thousands of years, the submission and silencing of women within society are experienced and, more than that, encouraged. Not only cisgender women, but all transvestigenders, black, indigenous, disabled people, among others, suffer from this fruit of the prejudiced, sexist, racist, homophobic patriarchal society in which we live. This segregation of superiority also exists in the artistic environment, which despite being much more evolved and open, has also propagated oppression and sexism within the area.
Through a clown show that uses the principles of Documentary Theater unleashed by Erwin Piscator, together with other concepts of Epic Theater and Theater of the Absurd by Bertolt Brecht and Samuel Beckett, I will address this silencing suffered by women artists, more specifically the clowns, of how they managed to build their poetics and their comic body, being recognized for their work. |
