Satisfação conjugal e a coparentalidade ao longo do ciclo de vida da família

Abstract

A presente investigação tem como principal objetivo estudar a relação entre a coparentalidade e a satisfação conjugal e a forma como estas variáveis evoluem ao longo das diferentes etapas do ciclo de vida da família. A amostra é constituída por 606 pais, com idades compreendidas entre os 20 e os 82 anos, casados ou em união de facto, com pelo menos um filho. Recorreu-se ao preenchimento de três instrumentos: um questionário sociodemográfico, construído para este estudo; o Questionário de Coparentalidade e a Escala de Avaliação da Satisfação em Áreas da Vida Conjugal. Os resultados indicam que a satisfação conjugal e a coparentalidade se relacionam mutuamente. Também se verificam nuances nas diferentes etapas do ciclo de vida, sendo estatisticamente significativas na coparentalidade cooperativa e conflituosa. Foram ainda discutidas as limitações e implicações deste estudo e sugeridas algumas pistas para futuras investigações; Marital satisfaction and coparenting throughout the family lifespan Abstract: The main objective of the present investigation is to study the relationship between coparenting and marital satisfaction and the way these variables evolve throughout the different stages of the family's life cycle. The sample consists of 606 parents, aged between 20 and 82 years old, married or in consensual union, with at least one child. Three instruments were filled in: a sociodemographic questionnaire, built for this study; the Coparenting Questionnaire and the Scale of Evaluation of the Satisfaction on the Marital Areas of Life. The results indicate that marital satisfaction and coparenting are mutually related. There are also nuances in the different stages of the life cycle, being statistically significant in cooperative and conflictual coparenting. The limitations and implications of this study were also discussed and some clues for future investigations were suggested.
