Abstract: Due to the multifunctionality of silvopastoral systems several interests co-exist in the same space. Actors' coordination can allow the development of collective strategies and actions towards sustainability and resilience of these systems. How can such coordination be implemented? We try to reply to this question by discussing two initiatives that work as platforms for knowledge and action creation. A special focus will be given to the need for long-term processes, proper facilitation, territorial cohesion and social integration. Such multi-actor platforms can contribute to overcome the current constraints, especially fragmentation between decision-making processes and land abandonment.
