Clínica e cirurgia de equinos

Abstract

O presente relatório encontra-se dividido em três partes distintas. Na primeira parte é descrita a casuística acompanhada ao longo do estágio curricular do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária, pela Universidade de Évora. A análise casuística dos casos acompanhados abrange uma descrição pormenorizada de alguns deles em diferentes áreas de medicina preventiva, de clínica médica e de clínica cirúrgica, tanto do estágio decorrido em regime ambulatório, com o Doutor Bruno Miranda como do estágio decorrido no Hospital Clínico Veterinário da Universidade Autónoma de Barcelona. Na segunda parte, desenvolve-se uma monografia com o tema “Atresia de coanas”, com a caracterização da anatomia do aparelho respiratório, o seu desenvolvimento e a revisão bibliográfica do tema. Por fim, na terceira parte, faz-se a apresentação de um caso clínico de atresia bilateral de coanas, acompanhado durante o estágio, desde o surgimento da patologia, a sua resolução cirúrgica e o maneio pós-operatório; Abstract: Equine Clinics and Surgery The present study is divided into three different parts. On the first part, the main goal is to describe the studies developed during the curricular internship within the integrated master degree in Veterinary Medicine, by the University of Évora. The study of these cases includes a detailed description of some of them in different areas of prophylactic medicine, of medical clinic and of surgery clinic, during the internship with Doc Bruno Miranda, as well as during the externship at the Veterinary Hospital from the University of Barcelona. On the second part, it is developed a theoretical revision of the topic “choanal atresia”, with the description of the breathing system, its development and the bibliographic revision on the topic. On the third part, it is presented a clinic case of bilateral choanal atresia, followed during the internship, since the appearing of the pathology, its surgical resolution and the post-surgery management.
