A qualidade percebida das relações entre jovens institucionalizados e os seus cuidadores formais

Abstract

Pretendeu-se nesta dissertação do Mestrado de Psicologia Clínica estudar a natureza e desenvolvimento das relações que as jovens acolhidas estabelecem com os seus cuidadores formais numa Casa de Acolhimento Residencial Especializada do Alentejo. Para o efeito realizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas e procedeu-se à análise fenomenológica do seu conteúdo. Os dados recolhidos refletem que ambos os grupos, jovens e educadores, reconhecem a disponibilidade para relação por parte dos educadores para as jovens e a importância desta relação na estabilização psicoemocional das mesmas. Refletem ainda a perceção do impacto positivo, das relações estabelecidas com os adultos na CARE, quer no presente, quer na vida futura, das jovens, apresentando exemplos de mudanças internas já ocorridas desde a sua admissão. Para além disso, foi possível compreender como as jovens e os educadores se caracterizam entre si e à CARE, identificando aspetos dificultadores e facilitadores deste tipo de intervenção terapêutica; Abstract: This dissertation intended to study the nature and development of the relationships that female adolescents establish with their formal caregivers in a specialized foster home in Alentejo. For this purpose, we carried out semi-structured interviews and a phenomenological analysis of their content. We concluded through the perceptions of the adolescents and the caregivers, that both groups, recognize the willingness of the caregivers to the relation with the institutionalized youth, as well as the importance of this relationship in their psychoemotional stabilization. They also disclose the perception of the positive impact of the relationships established with adults, on the lives of the female adolescents, presenting examples of internal changes, that have already occurred with the youth interviewed, since they were admitted in this foster home. In addition, we understand how the adolescents and caregivers characterize each other and the foster home, identifying obstacles and facilitators of this therapeutic intervention.
