O roteiro da paz na região Austral; caso particular de Angola, 1987-1991

Abstract

A presente dissertação de mestrado prende-se com o estudo dos mecanismos que contribuíram para a devolução da paz na Região Austral de África, em particular em Angola. Neste trabalho também pretendemos analisar quais foram as razões de fundo, que entre os anos de 1987 à 1991 estiveram na base da tomada de decisão, tanto pelas forças externas quanto pelas internas direta ou indiretamente envolvidas no conflito, sobre a necessidade da busca da paz, que no caso específico de Angola, culminou com a assinatura dos acordos de Bicesse. Como é óbvio, embora não seja o móbil deste trabalho, procuramos também buscar entender algumas das razões do rastilho do conflito, mormente em Angola, mas que teve sérias repercussões em alguns países na Região Austral. Apesar da sua delimitação no tempo, momentos houve em que nos socorremos de um ou outro dado fora destes limites. Aliás, só assim podemos entender a lógica da evolução dos acontecimentos que nos levaram até à assinatura dos acordos de Bicesse em 1991; ABSTRACT: The Peace Itinerary in the Southern Region; the particular case of Angola, 1987-1991

This master`s degree dissertation deals with the study of the mechanisms that contributed to the peace return in the Southern Africa Region, particularly in Angola. In this work we as well pretend to analyze which were the main reasons that between 1987 and 1991 served as the base of the decision taken by internal and external forces that were direct or indirectly involved in the conflict, about the need of bringing peace that in Angola lead to the signature of the Bicesse accords. As obvious, although not being the main aim of this work, we try as well to understand some reasons that were the fuse of the conflict overall in Angola, but that had serious repercussions in some other countries of the Southern Region. Apart from its delimitation in time, there will be moments when we will be using data out of the indicated limits of time. By the way, only using this method we can understand the logic of the steps that lead us to the signature of the Bicesse accords in 1991.
