Return home: Promoting the well-being of the puerpera in the experience of motherhood.
The puerperium can be defined as the period of physical and psychological recovery of the woman, which begins soon after the experience of labor and lasts up to six weeks. The objective was to promote the well-being of the puerpera in the experience of motherhood. A situation diagnosis was performed on a puerperae sample (253), who had their delivery at the Hospital do Espírito Santo E.P.E. A questionnaire was used, where sociodemographic / obstetric data were obtained and a second questionnaire, Preocupações Maternas de Sheil et al. (1985), versão piloto Portuguesa: Mendes, Rodrigues, Santos at Pedrosa 2010. Concerns about the discharge of the baby, companion, family and community were identified. Placement in the maternity hospital after childbirth proves insufficient for the consolidation and acquisition of the necessary skills to care for the puerpera and her child. Activities were developed that allowed the creation of a postpartum recovery course at HESE-E.P.E. |
