Limitações e constrangimentos na acção médica pela prespectiva dos médicos: análise exploratória num centro de saúde

Abstract

Esta investigação é exploratória e transversal, tendo como objectivos identificar situações que os MCGF das extensões de saúde do CS em estudo considerassem constrangedoras e/ou limitadoras no desempenho das suas funções no SNS, e perceber quais seriam as que consideram mais preocupantes para o sucesso da terapêutica. Foi utilizado um modelo de entrevista semi-estruturada, validada previamente. Os resultados desta validação estão na base da definição das categorias que emergiram da análise qualitativa de conteúdo. As categorias e subcategorias mais vezes referenciadas pelos entrevistados foram Escassez de Recursos e escassez de técnicos que dão apoio à consulta de clínica geral, respectivamente. Conclui-se que a escassez de recursos nos cuidados primários de saúde é uma forte preocupação dos Médicos entrevistados e que todos eles consideraram que o trabalho em equipa multidisciplinar, nos cuidados primários de saúde, iria diminuir as limitações no acto médico e, automaticamente, beneficiar o utente. – ABSTRACT: This research is exploratory and transversal, and aims to identify situations that General and Family Practitioners in Health Extensions of the Health Centre in study would consider constraint and/or limiting to the performance of their duties in the National Health Service, and realize what they consider to be the most concerning for the success of therapy. A previously validated model of semi-structured interview was used. The results of this validation are at the basis for defining the categories that emerged from the qualitative content analysis. The categories and sub categories more often referenced by the interviewed were Shortage of Resources and shortage of technicians who support the consultation of General Practitioners, respectively. It is concluded that the shortage of resources in primary health care is a major concern of the Medical Practitioners interviewed, and that all of them felt that multidisciplinary teamwork, in primary health care, would reduce the limitations in the medical procedure and, automatically, benefit the patient.
