técnicas e materiais, foram transmitidas e aplicadas às oficinas de pintores portugueses; ABSTRACT: At the inception of the 16th century, Antwerp was the great artistic hub of northern
Europe. The studies undertaken, so far, seek to demonstrate that no significant
difference existed in the painting technique for the internal market or for exporting
purpose. Although some variation in the simplification technique was noted, the
painting materially maintained the same transparency principles in the coloring, the
subtlety and smoothness of the light and dark. One of the novelties presented, is the
division of tasks in the workshop practice, which forced us to restructure our
understanding of the relationship between master, apprentice and contributor. The
characteristics of the specific practices in use at the time, that were brought in and
applied to the Portuguese painters’ workshops, are described. |
