Abstract: | Esta pesquisa investiga as causas que levaram as superpotências a intervirem em África,
conflito angolano na era da descolonização; ABSTRACT: This research investigates the reasons behind the intervention of superpowers in Africa,
particularly in Angola during the decolonization period which culminated with the
independence of the country on the 11th November 1975. As it’s known, the
superpowers that arose from World War II (USA and USSR) supported from the
beginning the National Liberation Movements in their struggle for independence,
providing them with multiform support.
In order to understand the motivations, level of involvement and the consequences, we
have conducted this research, thus contributing towards a better understanding of the
events occurred at that time which are part of the recent history of Angola.
With this work, we hope that we’ve found some answers that will help us to demystify
some myths and misunderstandings related to the presence of superpowers in the
Angolan conflict during the decolonization period. |
