The shortage of bank liquidity and rising sovereign debt of countries has caused profound
impacts on the European economy.
The years that followed the entry into the euro have been fruitful in providing credit to
households and therefore the debt of these.
The situation has reached such proportions that the banks have begun to hamper the
credit through more rigorous risk analysis and the increase in spreads. The sale of credit
is no longer a priority and was aimed at the sale of time deposits and savings.
The rst priority involves the formalization of a demand deposit contract with a validation
of documentation and collection of signatures.
Thus, it is important to give the banks a high level of operational e ciency supported
by robust IT solutions to capture and query signatures, which are capable of responding
to demand.
This dissertation presents a detailed study of these solutions, based on a real case of
Portuguese banks. |
