Santo Antão: O Património e o Ambiente

Abstract

O aumento da participação de destinos tidos como “ecoturismo” no segmento turístico gerou expectativas em muitas regiões do planeta, especialmente nas que apresentam maiores carências a nível económico. A participação no circuito turístico sem precauções de sustentabilidade está na origem do avolumar de fragilidades nas restantes potencialidades naturais e sociais levando, mesmo, à adulteração da identidade local com prejuízo para os recursos aí existentes. A adesão de Cabo Verde ao circuito turístico, caracterizada pela consciência da potencialidade dos valores naturais, humana e tradicionais do país, necessita todavia, da implementação de políticas no contexto de um Ordenamento do sector do Turismo, com vista a atingir resultados sustentáveis em apoio à frágil situação económica das suas regiões. Neste contexto, a ilha de Santo Antão surge como uma região de grandes potencialidades, graças ao reconhecimento das suas qualidades. Tendo em consideração a procura crescente do sector na ilha, pretende-se com este estudo, contribuir para que o desenvolvimento económico da região se possa desenvolver, com base na utilização dos seus recursos, não só pela melhoria das comunidades e pelo aumento de emprego e rendimentos, mas também pelo reforço da vida comunitária, da melhoria do bem-estar e da integração social dos residentes, assim como também pelo desenvolvimento cultural de toda a ilha. Palavras-chave: Santo Antão, Ambiente, Património ; ### Abstract: The increased participation of destinations considered "ecotourism" in the tourism sector has raised expectations in many parts of the planet, especially in those with the greatest shortcomings in the economy. Participation in the tourist circuit without sustainability precautions is the origin of the swell of weaknesses in the natural and social potentialities, even leading to adulteration of local identity with to the resourcest herein. The adhesion of Cape Verde to the tourist circuit, characterized by an awareness of the potentialities of its natural values, and traditional human needs, however, the implementation of policies in the context of a Planning in the Tourism sector to achieve sustainable results in support of the fragile of its delicate economic situation of their regions. In this context, the island of Santo Antão emerges as a region of great potentialities, thanks to the recognition of their qualities. Taking into account the increasing demand in the sector on the island, it is intended with this study, contribute to the economic development of the region, so it can be developed based on the use of its resources, not only for improving communities by increasing employment and income but also by strengthening community life, improving the welfare and social integration of residents ad the cultural development of the whole islnd.
