| Abstract: | Preliminary results of a minerochemical study by X-ray diffraction and fluorescence spectrometry on geomaterials collected at S. Domingos mining area are reported. The study was undertaken within the scope of a POCTI/MCTES research project focused on environmental implications of acid mine drainage (AMD).
A synopsis is presented on the crystal chemistry of secondary iron sulphates as a contribution to a future interpretation of spectral infrared (IR) absorption data. |
