Tchiloli: um reflexo da “Communitas” santomense

Abstract

O Tchiloli é uma forma teatral realizada em São Tomé e Príncipe, transportadora de uma herança cultural que atravessa todo um continente africano, ao mesmo tempo, capaz de refletir os ideais de resistência e autonomia de um povo. Servindo-se como alibi da peça de teatro de Baltazar Dias, escrita pelo poeta cego da ilha da Madeira no sec. XVI, a ela serão acrescentados sucessivamente excertos que lhe irão reformar gradualmente o significado ao longo dos tempos. Esta tese sobre o estudo do Tchiloli, entanto reflexo da comunitas santomense, procurou compreender esta manifestação cultural, a partir da experiência cultural intrínseca à comunidade santomense. A partir deste objetivo central, reflectiu sobre a adaptação e apropriação da peça de B. Dias, e de como esta, em orgânica simbiose com outras manifestações culturais de proveniência vária, com especial incidência na herança cultural africana, serviu para criar um género único, reflector da potência e criatividade cultural deste povo. Além disso, analisou a sua teatralidade e o sincretismo cultural implícitos, bem como a carga ritual imanente, traduz o espelhar da experiência coletiva da comunidade santomense. Para este estudo fundeamos numa pesquisa bibliográfica, através de uma abordagem qualitativa, de caracter interpretativo. No que concerne a obtenção de dados, recorremos aos recursos audiovisuais, optando pela entrevista semidirecta. A tese vem responder a uma exigência da Universidade de Évora, para conclusão do curso de mestrado em artes cénicas, ao mesmo tempo que irá satisfazer um desejo pessoal e muito particular, no sentido de estudar esta manifestação cultural, o que implicará conhecer mais profundamente as particularidades de cultura de São Tomé; - Tchiloli: A Reflection Of The Santomense “Communitas”. Abstrat: Tchiloli is a theatrical form performed in Sao Tome and Principe, carrier of a cultural heritage that spans an entire African continent, at the same time capable of reflecting the ideals of resistance and autonomy of a people. Using itself as an alibi for plays by Baltazar Dias, written by the blind poet from Madeira in the 16th century, excerpts will be successively added to it that will gradually reform its meaning over time. This thesis on the study of tchiloli, however the reflection of the Santomense comunitos, sought to understand this cultural manifestation, from the cultural experience intrinsic to the Santomense community. Based on this central objective, he reflected on the adaptation and appropriation of pieces by B.Dias, and how this, in organic symbiosis with other cultural manifestations of various origins, with a special focus on the African cultural heritage, served to create a unique genre, reflector ofpower and cultural creativity of this people. In addition, it analyzed in its entirety the implicit cultural syncretism as well as the immanent ritual load, reflecting the spread of the collective experience of the Santomean community. For this study we based on a bibliographic research, through a qualitative approach, with an interpretative character. With regard to obtaining data, we resorted to audiovisual resources, opting for the semi-direct interview. The thesis responds to a requirement of the University of Évora for the completion of the master's course in performing arts, at the same time that it will satisfy a very particular personal desire, in the sense of studying this cultural manifestation, and which will involve more deeply the particularities of culture. of Sao Tome.
