O impacto do aumento das habilitações escolares através do processo RVCC numa pequena comunidade rural do Alentejo: um estudo de caso

Abstract

Os processos de RVCC constituem, hoje, instrumentos importantes de reforço da qualificação escolar e profissional da população. O trabalho que apresentamos teve, como ponto de partida, o Projeto de investigação denominado “Novas Núpcias da Qualificação no Alentejo”, promovido pelo Centro de Investigação em Educação e Psicologia da Universidade de Évora, através do qual se avaliaram os impactos, pessoais, profissionais e sociais, do processo de RVCC no universo de indivíduos (2969 sujeitos) que, em toda a região Alentejo, no período 2000-2005, concluíram a sua escolaridade. A nossa investigação avaliou estes impactos numa pequena freguesia rural do concelho de Évora, a partir de informação obtida relativamente a adultos que realizaram o Processo de RVCC, entre 2001 e 2011. A partir do QNQ (Questionário das Novas Qualificações), obtivemos informação que nos permitiu avançar para uma abordagem metodológica mista, numa aproximação conceptual ao estudo de caso, utilizando uma amostra por conveniência, de forma a concretizar a finalidade da nossa investigação: avaliar quais os impactos nos adultos certificados e na comunidade onde residem decorrentes de uma certificação escolar obtida através do Processo de RVCC. Após a análise da informação quantitativa obtida, realizámos entrevistas semiestruturadas aos grupos-alvo do estudo - Adultos Certificados e Líderes Locais - utilizando a Análise de Conteúdo, enquanto técnica de análise de dados. Verificaram-se impactos a nível social, profissional, familiar e comunitário, ainda que residuais, mas foi a nível pessoal que se evidenciou, de forma mais clara, a importância de uma nova habilitação escolar no contexto de uma freguesia rural. Esta nova condição é valorizada pelos Líderes Locais, embora sem impactos relevantes. Tornou-se então evidente que nem os adultos encontraram espaço para se mobilizarem em atividades comunitárias, nem o contexto onde vivem potenciou essa motivação; The impact of increasing school skills through the RVCC process in a small rural community in the Alentejo: A case study Abstract: The processes of RVCC are, today, important instruments to strengthen the school and professional qualification of the population. The work we presented had as a starting point the research project called "New Nuptials of Qualification in Alentejo", promoted by the Research Center in Education and Psychology of the University of Évora, through which the impacts, personal, professional and social, of the process of RVCC in the universe of individuals (2969 subjects) who, throughout the Alentejo region, in the period 2000-2005, completed their schooling were evaluated. Our research evaluated these impacts in a small rural parish of the municipality of Évora, based on information obtained in relation to adults who performed the RVCC Process between 2001 and 2011. From the QNQ (New Qualifications Questionnaire), we obtained information that allowed us to move towards a mixed methodological approach, in a conceptual approach to the case study, using a random sample of 5 adults and a convenience sample of 6 Local Leaders, in order to achieve the expectations of our research: to evaluate what impacts on certified adults and the community where they reside resulting from a school certification obtained through the RVCC Process. After analyzing the quantitative information obtained, we conducted semi-structured interviews with the target groups of the study - Certified Adults and Local Leaders - using Content Analysis as a data analysis technique. There were social, professional, family and community impacts (albeit residual), but it was on a personal level that the importance of a new school qualification in the context of a rural parish was more clearly evidenced. This new condition is valued by the Local Leaders, although without relevant impacts. It became evident then that neither adults found room to mobilize in community activities, nor the context in which they live enhanced this motivation.
