O contributo do kimbundu no português em Angola (aspetos lexicais)

Abstract

O presente trabalho resulta de uma pesquisa sobre o contributo do kimbundu no português em Angola. Considerando que o kimbundu coabita com a língua portuguesa há séculos, procurou-se verificar por via historiográfica e linguística, como esse contacto permanente entre uma língua latina com as línguas bantu, particularmente com o kimbundu, deu origem a uma variante do português em Angola diferente da norma europeia. Ao longo da coabitação entre o português e as línguas bantu, em Angola, a língua portuguesa incorporou alguns empréstimos dessas línguas, por um lado, e, por outro lado, as línguas bantu, sobretudo o kimbundu adaptou muitos lexemas portugueses como forma de estabelecer equivalências lexicais e designar novas realidades. Acresce que essas adaptações deram origem a várias alterações e mudanças ao nível fonológico, morfológico, lexical e sintático. Sabe-se que por meio da língua os seres humanos estão em constante interação. Assim, na medida em que convivem, surgem diversos interesses entre si, comerciais, culturais, religiosos políticos e sociais (casamento). Desta forma, os sistemas linguísticos de cada comunidade em interação são, por um lado, afetados por elementos estranhos da língua em contacto, e por outro lado, ganham novas palavras que podem de certa forma enriquecer as suas estruturas lexicais. Reiteramos que o veloz desenvolvimento tecnológico das sociedades, hoje, obriga as línguas a uma adequação do seu léxico, criando novas palavras ou adaptando-as a novos significados de acordo com a sua realidade. Verificou-se que a língua portuguesa ao longo da sua existência tem sofrido muitas alterações ou mudanças que visam enriquecer o seu léxico. Durante a convivência com as línguas bantu, os dois sistemas linguísticos têm interagido reciprocamente, incorporando unidades lexicais de uma língua para outra; ABSTRACT: Kimbundu contribution to Angolan Portuguese (lexical aspects) The present dissertation focuses on the contribution of Kimbundu to the Portuguese language in Angola. Considering that Kimbundu has cohabited with the Portuguese language for centuries, the research carried out aims at verifying, by means of historiography and linguistics, how this longstanding contact between a Latin and Bantu languages, especially Kimbundu, gave origin to a variant of Portuguese in Angola, which differs from the Standard European Portuguese language. The cohabitation between Portuguese and the Bantu languages, in Angola, has allowed the former to incorporate some loan words from the latter; the Bantu languages, especially Kimbundu, have adapted many Portuguese words as a way of establishing lexical equivalences and of naming new realities. Furthermore, such adaptations originated several phonological, morphological, lexical and syntactic changes. Language plays an important role in social interaction, in its many facets: commercial, cultural, religious, political. The linguistic systems involved in this process are, therefore, affected by elements proper of the languages in contact, gaining new words that somehow may enrich their lexical structures. The rapid technological development of societies today makes languages to adapt their lexicon, through the creation of new words or of their adaptation to new meanings according to the reality in which they evolve. The Portuguese language throughout its existence has undergone many lexical changes. During the coexistence with the Bantu languages, the two linguistic systems have interacted with each other, incorporating lexical units from one another.
