Complementação finita no português de Angola: para uma gramática da frase

Abstract

O presente trabalho visa descrever a natureza estrutural e funcional da complementação oracional finita na variedade angolana do português, segundo os princípios teóricos e metodológicos do funcionalismo linguístico das escolas francesa e espanhola. Pretende-se contribuir para o estudo de uma proposta de gramática da frase que evidencie o atual panorama deste subtipo de subordinação na variedade angolana do português. A descrição e interpretação realista de formas linguísticas mais estáveis, cujas unidades surgiram da análise e tratamento informático de um corpus representativo formado da imprensa escrita angolana, permitiram atestar graus de instabilidade nas relações de complementação oracional finita na norma angolana do português, como a sintaxe posicional dos clíticos em variação livre entre anteposição e posposição, a omissão da preposição de em completivas verbais intrinsecamente pronominais, a perda crescente da noção de mundo possível por causa da ocorrência do modo indicativo com predicadores “irreais” e por causa do elevado rendimento funcional de predicadores factuais no sistema e, igualmente, a inexistência de restrições temporais em completivas de conjuntivo, barrando, desta forma, a oposição funcional entre conjuntivo, tempo-dependente e indicativo, tempo-independente. Isso parece evidenciar que, na história interna de uma língua, nenhuma sincronia é estática e igualmente que o português falado e escrito em Angola é diferente, por exemplo, do português falado e escrito em Portugal. Os resultados descritos na presente gramática da frase, cujo mérito, a existir, pertence a gerações anteriores de linguistas nacionais e estrangeiros, poderão, de igual modo, contribuir para a definição e sistematização estrutural da norma angolana do português; FINITE COMPLEMENTATION IN ANGOLAN PORTUGUESE: FOR A CLAUSE GRAMMAR ABSTRACT: The present thesis aims at describing the structural and functional nature of the finite complement clauses in the Angolan Portuguese, according to the theoretical and methodological principles of the French and Spanish functionalist schools. We intend to contribute to the debate of these complex sentences, in discussing linguistic norm and standardization. Through an electronic corpus of written texts (newspapers of Angola), the realistic description and interpretation of more stable linguistic forms allowed us to verify different performances with regard to finite complementation. This study analyses the linguistic phenomena that are responsible for such variation, namely (i) the positional syntax of the clitics, (ii) the deletion and addition of prepositions, (iii) the loss of functional opposition between the indicative and subjunctive moods (because of the selection of the indicative mood in contexts that require the subjunctive mood, according to the European Portuguese norm), and (iv) the phenomena of consecutio temporum. The analysis of the data indicates that, on the one hand, no synchrony is static in the internal history of a language and, on the other, the features of the finite complement clauses that differ from European Portuguese should be taken as specific properties of a variety of Portuguese. The results of this work, whose merit, if it has any, belongs to several generations of national and foreign linguists, can contribute to the definition and structural systematization of the Angolan variety of Portuguese.
