Without a doubt, to acquire a second language is an individual and a collective process of integration and socialization. It is a task of great complexity in its teaching process, because this changes the linguistic speaker’s behaviour. Students having different cultural and linguistic support, so they face some foreign elements to their cultures. They have difficulties in dealing with deviations in different areas of the new linguistic system, and even build up a different system according to the identity of the first or second language (Leiria1991, Madeira 2008). Since the subject of this thesis is the acquisition of Portuguese as a second language in the context of the Angolan school, and the perspective for the normalization of the Portuguese language spoken in Angola, the aim of this research is to identify the teaching of the Portuguese standard language (the oficial language of the Angolan people), from the contact in the multilingual context (where variation necessarily exists) until the acquisition of its system. Today and essentially the procedure was subjected to the following question: what Portuguese to speak/teach in the Angolan context? Based on the hypotheses, we, first, revised the literature (Chap. I), next we characterized the sociolinguistic context in which the acquisition of Portuguese language takes place (Chap II - IV) and by the contact of the Cokwe and Portuguese language we proceeded to the characterization of the internal structures (Chap. V) at ESPLN. From this observation (variation /instability of the estruture) and by means of it we contrast phrases’ structures in order to reflect on the future of emerging variety in this country (Cap. VI). The methodology used an induced production test, which allowed the access of the students’ proficiency of I and II years of higher education in Lunda Norte (Dundo), as a sample of this study. The analised data and the conclusions of the literature review, lead us to present this reflection around the ideal standard and the emerging standard in this multilinguistic space.
