Entre a Porta de Avis e a Porta da Lagoa, em Évora. Proposta arquitetónica

... ultrapassada a muralha, é na periferia que deve encontrar-se preocupação do urbanismo atual; é nela e na sua recuperação que deve orientar-se o planeamento urbanístico e então querer-se às portas do intramuros. A cidade é só uma, a história faz-se a todo o momento e em todo o lugar, a nova muralha a recuperar chama-se, agora, periferia. (Lima,1996, p.9). Pretende-se na fase inicial a recolha de cartografia antiga, de forma a refletir sobre a cidade de Évora e o seu desenvolvimento. Uma cidade que hoje se encontra visualmente com uma clara contenção do aglomerado envolvido pela muralha, apenas interrompida nas portas. É importante criar relação entre o denso espaço urbano e o espaço exterior à muralha. Na presente dissertação será tomado como ponto de partida, a relação intramuros e extramuros. Uma intervenção entre a porta de Avis e a porta da Lagoa, zona esquecida, mas importante pela sua relação de proximidade com a muralha. Este local foi uma antiga zona habitacional, ainda marcado pela presença de ruínas adossadas à muralha, descaracterizado ao longo do tempo. Torna-se fundamental a sua requalificação, proporcionando a relação entre o interior e exterior do perímetro muralhado. Para tal é proposto um equipamento de espaço público cultural, de forma a potenciar uma caracterização da zona, não descurando o percurso verde à volta das muralhas; ABSTRACT: ... beyond the wall, on is periphery, is where the actual urbanism has is main concern; the urban planning should be oriented on recovering the old wall his periphery. On the initial phase of this project the intention is to collect all kind of old cartography, in order to reflect about city of Évora and its development. A city that today is visually observed with a clear restraint of the clusters involved by the city wall, only interrupted by their doors. It is important to create an association between the dense urban space and the space outside the city wall. The starting point of this dissertation will be the relation between the inside and outside of the city old wall. The main goal of this thesis is to propose an intervention between the porta Avis and the porta Lagoa, a forgotten area but important for its relation of proximity to the city wall. This place was an old residence zone, still marked by the presence of ruins attached to the city wall, but it has been getting old overtime and there is no connection to the surrounded environment. So, its requalification is major, providing the relation between the interior and exterior of the wall perimeter. To this end, it is proposed public-cultural space, in order to enhance a characterization of the area, without overlooking the green path around the walls.
