Relatório de estágio decorrido na Wordzilla. Tradução audiovisual e tradução técnica: conceitos, características e a função do tradutor

Abstract

O presente relatório surge no âmbito do estágio decorrido e realizado na empresa de tradução Wordzilla e em consequência do mestrado em Línguas e Linguística: Especialidade em Tradução da Universidade de Évora. O propósito deste trabalho académico será o de fornecer um relato compreensivo sobre a experiência de estágio, com enfoque nas modalidades desenvolvidas no mesmo, a legendagem, uma modalidade da tradução audiovisual, e a tradução técnica. É também pretendido com este trabalho realizar uma análise concisa de algumas das traduções realizadas ao longo do estágio anteriormente mencionado. Tanto a tradução audiovisual como a tradução técnica são modalidades que têm um grande peso no que diz respeito à comunicação interlinguística e intercultural global dos dias de hoje, pois permitem a compreensão cultural e linguística do grosso dos textos produzidos diariamente em todo o mundo, o que revela a sua grande importância em termos culturais (sobretudo no caso da tradução audiovisual), sociais, científicos (no caso da tradução técnica) e económicos; Abstract: Internship report of the internship at Wordzilla – Audiovisual translation and technical translation: concepts, characteristics and the role of the translator This report follows the internship which took place at Wordzilla and it is sequent to obtaining the Master’s degree in Translation of the University of Évora. The purpose of this academic paper is providing a comprehensive report on the internship experience, with emphasis on the types of translation practiced, subtitling, a subtype of audiovisual translation, and technical translation. This paper will also include a concise analysis of some of the translations done throughout the course of said internship. Both audiovisual and technical translation have a very deep influence on nowadays interlingual and intercultural communication, because they allow for the linguistic and cultural understanding of the majority of texts produced worldwide on a daily basis. This reveals the major importance they have culturally (especially audiovisual translation), socially, scientifically (as for technical translation) and economically.
