Abstract

Face ao actual contexto de fraudes e de escândalos financeiros, o Revisor de Contas tem um papel fundamental na validação da informação financeira das demonstrações financeiras. O recurso a softwares específicos para realizar o seu trabalho é cada vez mais essencial. O IDEA é um desses softwares pois permite a extracção, pesquisa, amostragem e manipulação dos dados a fim de identificar erros, problemas, casos específicos ou particulares e tendências. A empresa L. Graça, R. Carvalho & M Borges, SROC, Lda, é uma sociedade de revisores oficiais de contas que, embora já tivesse softwares específicos, não tinha nenhum que permitisse a maioria das funções descritas e, por isso, procurou investir no IDEA, sendo que o presente documento relata esse investimento e os principais resultados obtidos. Os objectivos do estágio passaram essencialmente em criar as rotinas necessárias para que se adoptasse o IDEA, de uma forma autónoma, crítica e dinâmica, pelos colaboradores da empresa em questão. Foram identificados diversos testes e rotinas importantes bem como o feedback obtido. A formação dos colaboradores teve mais do que uma abordagem, sendo que a que resultou passou por formação em grupo com testes no final das sessões. O resultado final foi satisfatório, uma vez que os objectivos propostos foram atingidos. - ABSTRACT: Considering the current context of fraud and financial scandals, the Auditor has a key role in validating the financial information of the financial statements. The use of specific software to perform its work is increasingly an essential requirement. The IDEA is a software that allows the extraction, examination, sampling and exploitation of data in order to identify errors and problems, to analyze specific cases and to capture trends. L. Graça, R. Carvalho & M. Borges, SROC, Lda. is an audit firm who had decided to invest in IDEA. The company is already using other specific software to support the audit work. However, these applications do not allow most of the functions described for IDEA. The present work reports the main results of using IDEA in that firm. The main objectives of the work performed were related to the establishment of routines to use IDEA by employees in an autonomous, critical and dynamic way. We identified several important tests and routines as well as the feedback obtained. Employees training had more than one approach. However, it was the group training with trials at the end that provided better results. The final results were satisfactory, since the objectives were achieved.
