/ABSTRACT; The purpose of this thesis is to characterize the obstetric nurse’s professional practises of the in HDJMG in Portalegre. As a strategic analysis, we consider the case study-method and the quality paradigm. This method of intensive analysis allows a better understanding of the caring nature, describing thus the experience of nurses; the way these are lived and how they are described. The results show a very strong interaction with the following characterization: nurses care for the puerperal and family, they are better prepared and have a better image than before; they teach programs about puerperium, regarding the pain and the needs of patients. The cultural education of patients is identified as a barrier to the relation and the permanent availability is a strategy to solve it. They understand that the obedience and submissive attitude from patients is due to nurses’ authority. They use as a practice paradigm the Transformation considering as relevant the human instead of the technical relationship. The researcher's positioning regarding this scenario is shown at the end of this thesis, as a way of contributing to the improvement of professional care practices in obstetrical nursing. |
