O impacto ambiental do crescimento económico: uma visão integrada na União Europeia e no mundo

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende aprofundar as questões ambientais adjacentes ao crescimento e ao desenvolvimento económico. Pretende-se alcançar uma análise crítico-dedutiva dos custos/benefícios das atividades económicas no meio ambiente, utilizando estudos como o relatório Brundtland e o relatório Stern, passando pela opinião do ambientalista cético Bjorn Lomborg. É muito importante que o desenvolvimento de hoje tenha em conta as gerações futuras e a preservação dos recursos, mesmo dos renováveis, pois é muito importante que a sua utilização não seja feita de forma mais rápida e exaustiva que a sua capacidade de regeneração. Por fim, será feita referência às políticas da União Europeia relativamente às questões ambientais e ao modo como os principais blocos económicos, incluindo a própria UE, lidam com essas mesmas questões, o que deve ser feito e de que forma, de modo a evitar ruturas irreversíveis; ABSTRACT:This work aims to deepen the environmental questions related to the economic growth and development. It claims to reach a critical-deductive analysis of the costs/benefits of economic activities on the environment, using studies like the Brundtland report and Stern report, including the opinion of the septic environmentalist Bjorn Lomborg. It is very important that the development of today looks for the future generations and the preservation of resources, even the renewables, because it is very important that the use of renewable resources don’t damage its capacity of regeneration. Finally, it will be done reference to the politics of the European Union relatively to the environmental questions and the way like the big economies, including the EU itself, see those questions, what shall be done and which way, to avoid irreversible ruptures.
