Externato Dr. António Colaço 1960/1977: uma abordagem histórica e organizacional de uma escola privada

Abstract

Sob o título "O Externato Dr. António Francisco Colaço – 1960/77, Uma abordagem histórica e organizacional de uma escola privada", condensa-se o estudo de uma instituição de ensino particular, num tempo específico - as décadas de sessenta e setenta - e numa configuração geo-política-económica e social particular - a vila de Castro Verde, no Baixo Alentejo. Constituindo-se como uma monografia sócio-histórica, aborda as dimensões da vida organizacional deste estabelecimento de ensino e determina as especificidades que o mesmo adquiriu pela sua própria história. Deste modo, estrutura um olhar sobre uma organização escolar particular que, por um lado, numa perspectiva histórica, reconstrói o seu itinerário e mostra de que modo foi influenciada e exprimiu a sua época, evidenciando como nela se repercutiram as estruturas organizacionais e políticas do ensino nacional; por outro lado, numa perspectiva sócio-organizacional, apreendendo a dimensão da organização como acção colectiva, busca a compreensão da singularidade e da especificidade dessa instituição. Construída, metodologicamente, na teia de relações entre os dados recolhidos na diversa documentação e a trama da intersubjectividade constituída pelos discursos-memória dos actores organizacionais envolvidos na vida do Externato, este estudo pretende delinear um contributo para a história das instituições educativas privadas. ### Abstract - "Dr. António Francisco Colaço private day school – 1960/77. A historical approach", is the study of a private educational institution, at a specific time – the sixties and seventies – in a particular geo-political, social and economic context: the small town of Castro Verde in the Lower Alentejo. It is a socio-historical monograph and it focuses on aspects like the size and the organization of this institution and describes the characteristics it acquired through its own history. It therefore analyses the particular organization of the school: on one hand, it describes its course in a historical perspective and shows what influences it received and how it expressed its era. It also makes plain how the political structure and organization of the State school system were reflected in it. On the other hand, by grasping its collective action through the size of its organization, it endeavors to throw light on its distinctiveness. It was methodologically constructed from the web of relations between the data collected in the various documents and the thread of intersubjectivity revealed in the discourse-memory of the partakers in the life of the School. Finally, this study seeks to be a contribution to the history of private educational institutions in Portugal.
