Museu da Luz: contributos para a sua identidade cultural

Abstract

O museu da Luz resultou da reivindicação da população da aldeia da Luz, expressa formalmente nas actas produzidas pelas autarquias e reencaminhadas para o poder central. Inserido no conjunto das medidas de compensação para minimizar os impactos negativos do empreendimento de Alqueva, e numa evocação memorial à comunidade, o museu da Luz sintetiza a cultura material e imaterial da velha aldeia. 0 seu carácter identitário não se esgota neste âmbito e, por isso, pretende perspectivar o futuro, tornando-se num agente de reflexão entre passado, presente e futuro. Assim o exige o novo contexto emergente marcado pelo elemento dominante - a água. Enquadrado conceptualmente dentro das correntes da nova museologia (museu de comunidade) e aliando uma arquitectura de grande qualidade com os conteúdos expositivos suportados disciplinarmente pela etnografia, história e arqueologia, o museu da Luz assume uma forte vocação para a intervenção comunitária e poderá reunir as condições para se tornar num marco da museologia nacional e internacional. /*** Abstract - The Luz museum resulted from the population of Luz village's claiming expressed formally in the text proceedings produced by the local governments and sent to the central government. Introduced in the set of compensation measures taken to reduce the negative impacts of the Alqueva's enterprise and in a memorable evocation to the community, the Luz museum sums up the material and immaterial culture of the old village. Its identifiable character isn't confined to this extent and that is why it aims at projecting the future, becoming a reflection agent among past, present and future. This is what the new emerging context demands, marked by the dominant element - the water. Conceptually, it fits in the thoughts of the new museology (museum of community) and it joins an architecture of great quality to the expositive contents supported by ethnography, history and archaeology. The Luz museum assumes a strong inner call to the communitarian intervention and it may gather the conditions to become a landmark of national and international museology.
