A coexistência de linguagens musicais diferentes numa mesma obra musical

Abstract

Esta tese aborda a questão da coexistência de linguagens musicais diferentes numa mesma obra. Para tratar esta problemática parte-se da definição da terminologia, nomeadamente a palavra “linguagem” e a noção de linguagem musical, apurando-se depois dois conceitos musicais fundamentais – o tonalismo e atonalismo. Estes conceitos serão depois definidos como duas entidades que permitem, a partir de si próprias, classificar todo um outro conjunto de linguagens musicais. Será este o ponto de partida para o estudo, através de exemplos concretos de repertório, da coexistência de idiomas distintos na mesma obra; ### Abstract: This thesis addresses the issue of coexistence of different musical languages within the same piece. In order to examine this issue, firstly terminology is defined, in particular the term ‘language’ and the notion of musical language. This leads to identifying two fundamental concepts – tonality and atonality. These concepts will then be defined as two notions which make possible the classification of a number of musical idioms out of their own features. This will be the starting point for studying the coexistence of distinct musical idioms in a composition, through analysis of concrete examples of the repertoire.
