Abstract: | A coordenação motora, assim como o desenvolvimento motor, é influenciada por
características biológicas e socioculturais perante tal, este estudo, de delineamento
transversal, pretende estudar e comparar a coordenação motora em crianças dos 3 aos 6
anos de idade, a fim de comprovar a influência do fator idade no desenvolvimento das
habilidades de destreza manual, lançar e agarrar e equilíbrio.
Este estudo é essencial para aos profissionais direcionarem melhor a sua prática às
necessidades específicas das crianças. Fizeram parte da investigação 318 crianças que
frequentavam o ensino pré-escolar, da região do Alentejo.
O instrumento utilizado para avaliar a coordenação motora foi o Movement Assessment
Battery for Children, segunda edição (M-ABC-2).
Constatou-se que existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre as três faixas
etárias em estudo. Verificou-se ainda um incremento positivo no desenvolvimento da
coordenação motora com a idade, em cinco das oito tarefas motoras que compõem o MABC-

ABSTRACT:
Motor coordination, as well as motor development is influenced by biological and
socio-cultural features. Thus, this cross sectional study intended to study and compare the
motor coordination in three to six-year-old children, in order to proves the influence of
age in the development of the skills ok manual dexterity, aiming and catching and
balance.
This study is essential for professionals to adapt their practice to the specific needs of
children. 318 children that attended pre-school in the region of Alentejo were part of the
investigation.
The tool to assess the motor coordination was the Movement Assessment Battery for
Children, second edition (M-ABC-2).
Statistically Significant differences were found among the three studied age groups,
with a positive increase in the development of the motor coordination throughout the
years. This means that older children tended to have a better performance than younger
ones which proves the influence of age in the development of these, in five of the eight
motor tasks that comprise the M- ABC- 2. |
