Abstract: | The main aim of this study is to describe the changes of white lead
pigments in Igreja de Santa Clara (Sabugueiro, Portugal), to explain the
mechanism of the blackening of lead-based pigments and to identify the
different microorganisms involved in this process and the role of salt
solutions. This information can be useful in decision of making for
conservation and restoration treatments. |
