Abstract: | ENG / This book is originated from the "Multimedia and Transmedia Practices: Initiation to Artistic Research Seminar" organised by researchers and lecturers Patrícia Gouveia (ITI/ LARSyS, FBAUL) and Teresa Veiga Furtado (CHAIA-UE, DAVD/EA/UE). In order to generate a critical debate on knowledge and theoretical-practical research that reflects systemic and critical thinking from an arts, and design-based perspective, Anna Unterholzner, Diana Carvalho, Terhi Marttila and Tiago Mindrico, prepared a set of lessons presented at FBAUL and UE. The theme corresponds to a line of research started in 2023 at ITI/LARSyS, led by Patricia Gouveia, which aims to create, produce and disseminate knowledge in the area of arts and design and its intersections such as convergent feminism, which mixes eco and technofeminism, and gaming. The seminar is part of an extended cycle of events organised by Teresa Veiga Furtado since 2022, aimed at university students, in which professors, artists and international experts are invited to present and discuss relevant artistic research projects with the students. The seminar is part of an extended cycle of seminars organised by Teresa Veiga Furtado, which have been taking place at UE School of Arts, since 2022, in which national and international teachers and experts present their most relevant artistic research projects to the academy and community. We hope that these initiatives will trigger renewed ways of working based on greater sharing and exchange of knowledge between peers.
