Os hinos e a música comemorativa no contexto das celebrações do 1º de Dezembro em Évora na segunda metade de oitocentos.

Abstract

Resumo: O hino alargou-se durante o liberalismo oitocentista também às manifestações musicais políticas, militares e patrióticas. A grande agitação política que caracterizou todo o século XIX em Portugal, foi assim acompanhada de momentos de contagiante exaltação musical, como aliás os próprios títulos dos hinos exemplificam. Desde a Revolução Liberal, passando pela Independência do Brasil e a Guerra Civil até à Regeneração e ao Nacionalismo são vários os hinos constitucionais então surgidos. Sem dúvida marcante no quadro das comemorações políticas durante a segunda metade do século XIX foi precisamente o 1º de Dezembro, manifestação jubilatória de fervor nacionalista, associada à restauração da nacionalidade. Évora não fugiu à regra, tendo-se tornado central no contexto desta festividade. O presente estudo tem por objectivo apresentar uma série de factos determinantes associados às manifestações musicais de pendor político em Évora durante a segunda metade de oitocentos, sobretudo as que estiveram ligadas às comemorações do 1º de Dezembro no quadro do espaço urbano da cidade. Pretendemos assim fazer a relação integrada desses factos, com vista ao enriquecimento da narrativa histórica do que foi o panorama musical eborense, nas perspetivas, simultaneamente do hino político, e das comemorações do Dia da Restauração.

Abstract: During the 19th century Liberal Period the anthem was also extended to political, military and patriotic musical manifestations. The great political upheaval that characterized the entire 19th century in Portugal was thus accompanied by moments of contagious musical exaltation, as the titles of the hymns themselves exemplify. From the Liberal Revolution, through Brazil´s Independence and the Civil War to Regeneration and Nationalism, there are several constitutional anthems that emerged. Undoubtedly, in the context of political commemorations during the second half of the 19th century, the 1st of December, a jubilant manifestation of nationalist fervor, associated with the restoration of nationality, was particularly striking. Évora did not escape the rule, having become central in the context of this festivity. The present study aims to present a series of decisive facts associated with musical manifestations of a political nature in Évora during the second half of the 19th century, especially those linked to the commemorations of the 1st of December within the urban space of the city. We therefore intend to make an integrated relationship between these facts, with the goal of building the historical narrative of what was Évora´s musical panorama, simultaneously in the perspective of the political anthem´s content and the celebrations of the Restoration Day.
