Abstract: Barriers are usually considered to be negative as they prevent or strongly reduce fish migrations and movements in general, fragmenting populations and decreasing their viability. But desperate situations call for desperate measures and in the context of LIFE Saramugo Project all possible actions with positive effects were taken.
