A cons-Ciência da linguagem: perspetivação histórica da gramática seguida de reflexões sobre gramática e linguagem

Abstract

Este trabalho encontra-se dividido em duas partes. Na Parte I, apresentamos uma perspetivação histórica das gramáticas portuguesas, desde Fernão de Oliveira até às atuais gramáticas teóricas. Pretende-se estabelecer um traçado evolutivo, realçando as principais características dos vários períodos gramaticais. Equacionando os diversos contextos histórico-culturais, damos especial atenção a algumas das mais significativas gramáticas portuguesas, incidindo o nosso estudo, sobretudo, na definição e objetivos da gramática e na organização das obras. Sempre que for pertinente, destaca-se o tratamento que foi dado à Sintaxe, nas várias épocas e autores estudados. A Parte II trata das relações entre gramática e linguagem. Procuramos compreender os fundamentos fisiológicos da linguagem e relacioná-los com a sua função simbólica. Poderão os processos linguísticos reduzir-se a análises meramente fisicalistas, tendo como base um complexo sistema de conexões neuronais ou eles deverão ser integrados no alargado domínio da cognição e, assim, imersos na complexidade da psique humana? Que mecanismos suportam a interiorização das regras básicas de uma língua? Tentaremos responder a estas questões ao longo do trabalho e apresentar conclusões, no final; THE CON-SCIENCE (CONSCIOUSNESS) OF LANGUAGE ABSTRACT: This work is divided in two parts. Part I presents the evolution of the portuguese grammars, since Fernão de Oliveira until the current theoretical grammars, giving emphasis to the main characteristics of the different grammatical periods. Coming under specific historic-cultural contexts, some relevant portuguese grammars are analised here, highlighting definitions and goals of grammar and grammar’s organisation. A special focus is done to Syntax, when it is pertinent. Part II explores the relations between grammar and verbal language, trying to understand the physiological foundations of language and to relate them to symbolic functions. Can linguistic processes be simply reduced to physical analysis, based on a complex neural system, or should they be immersed in the larger domain of cognition with all his complexity? What kind of mechanisms supports the acquisition of the basic rules of a given language? The current study tries to answer to these questions and presents the conclusions later.
