Abstract: The demographic changes expected in the coming decades will take labor markets in health to increase competition for talent. Recruitment and retention of health professionals will be priorities in the health sector. The political health decision-makers face the challenge of combining an increasing demand for health care recruitment and retention of health professionals. The working environment is an important factor in the recruitment and retention of health professionals, and the characteristics of the work environment affect the quality of care directly and indirectly. Evidence - the working environment is an important factor in recruiting and retaining health professionals. The features of the work environment affect organizational functionality, individual satisfaction, the balance between work and family life, continuous development, and organizational culture. The work environment - plays a critical role both in ensuring the provision of health workforce, as the effectiveness and motivation of that workforce. Poor work environments contribute to medical errors, stress and "burnout", absenteeism and high staff turnover levels, which, in turn, compromises the quality of care. In conclusion, the evaluation of the work environment at the organizational level, comparing them, recognizing best practice and applying them it’s necessary.
