Abstract: | This work is part of the project PTDC/GEO-FIQ/4178/2012, funded by FCT/MCES, whose object of study is the electro-acoustic coupling in rocks, during mechanical action. The rocks were selected and analysed petrographically with the conventional polarized light microscopy (transmitted) and physically, in terms of connected porosity and density. The composition elemental geochemistry (ICP-MS) and isotopic (TIMS) rocks constitute a complementary and essential step for the differentiation and classification of the various lithotypes. After this, tests such as semi-quantitative analyses by SEM-EDS and Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-Ray will be made to evaluate the mineral phases, elemental composition and infrared spectrum of absorption/emission. The porosimetry of the rocks will be studied through testing of the specific surface area and pore size distribution measurements. |
