Abstract: The identification of biopolymers such as proteins, has been an important topic in heritage studies, namely in easel paintings. The immunological method Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA) is very sensitive and specific, capable of resolving complex mixtures of proteins, offering unique advantages over other analytical approaches mainly based on chromatography (usually combined with mass spectrometric detection). Thus, in this study was intended to produce Mabs, by hybridoma technology, to detect protein binders from animal glues.
