Senses of family food among millennials experiencing transition to adult life.

Abstract: There is something seemingly awkward when we intend to study family food and related practices in the daily life of young adults. At a first glance, it seems that we are trying to mix two completely different and opposing worlds. On the one hand, family food remembers something from the past, embedded in tradition and made of manual and time-consuming tasks. Contemporary youth, on the contrary, is associated immediately with the future and technology. This is especially true with Generation Y, the millennials or IGen, a range of different expressions broadly used to designate the individuals born between the 1980s and the beginning of the 21st century. This entry briefly explores senses of family food among millennials in Portugal and is based on the preliminary findings from a small-scale, qualitative study. The ultimate goal of our post is to stimulate a lively and creative reflection among the RC06 ISA members across the world on the relations between family and cooking practices.2019-01-01T00:00:00ZEffects of an internal and participatory intervention: improving the radiological imageAlmeida, Rui Pedro P.Silva, Carlos Alberto daSaturno-Hernandez, Pedro JesusGama, Zenewton André da Silvahttp://hdl.handle.net/10174/220162018-02-05T15:06:53Z2017-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Effects of an internal and participatory intervention: improving the radiological image

Abstract: The main goal of this research was to assess the effect of an internal and participative intervention aimed through the implementation of best practices and quality improvement applied to general radiology exams. Therefore, a quality improvement cycle was conducted in a radiology department considering a total of 5 criteria and 13 sub-criteria of quality assessment. At baseline, 11 of the criteria/sub-criteria presented quality failures but during the revaluation the improvements were significant in 8 of the criteria/subcriteria. So, the internal quality assessment cycle has been useful and effective as a routine tool for continuous quality improvement of the healthcare process.2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
